Manual Troubleshooting Instructions:
ATTENTION
Student, If you have recently install
Service Pack 3 for Windows XP and are having connection problems, try
the following:
1) Start Internet Explorer.
2) From the Tools menu, Click Manage Add-ons. Highlight
Microsoft RDP Client Control and click enable.
3) Restart Internet Explorer and attempt to connect to INSTS.
Add INSTS to your
Trusted Sites
1) Start Internet Explorer.
2) Client on your Internet Explorer's Internet Options under
the Tools menu.
3) Client on the Security Tab. Click the Trusted Sites check
mark. Then click the Sites button.
4) In the trusted sites window, type the following into the
add this website to the zone: http://insts.cccneb.edu then click add.
5) The Require server verification box must be unchecked to
allow the add.
6) Click the close button then ok.
7) Restart Internet Explorer and attempt to connect to INSTS.
Run Internet
Explorer as Administrator (Windows Vista)
1) Right click on your Internet Explore Icon
2) Choose Run as Administrator
3) Agree to the User Access Control Popup
Use the local
Remote Desktop Connection Client found in the Start Menu
1) Click on the Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories, then
Remote Desktop Connection
2) Type INSTS.CCCNEB.EDU into the Computer box.
3) (OPTIONAL) Click the Options Button, Under the Local
Resources tab, check the local devices boxes to enable your local
printers.
4) (OPTIONAL) Click the More button, Check the drives boxes
to enable your local disk drives to be accessible from the server and
click OK.
5) Click Connect
6) Enter you Student Username and password. You may have to
enter INS\ before your username in some cases. Example: INS\jsmith1234
